Today for reading my group was learning to make predictions. We had to choose a book we had never read before then we had to predict what it was about. Then we had to read the book and see if our predictions were right.

Orienteering

Yesterday for P.E (physical education) we did orienteering.
It was very fun and I enjoyed it.  Even though I was working on my own I had two class mate help me they were Stephney here's he link to her blog Stephneys' blog and Soane hers the link to his blog Soanes' blog. 
we came second and I am very grateful that they helped me. It was hard when we were trying to read the maps but we didn't really use it anyways. Next time we do orienteering I will ask my teacher if she can take some pics.

Visit from Brian Falkner

On Wednesday an New Zealand author called Brian Falkner came to our school . He talked about his experiences in life and how he made some of them into book but jazzed it up a little bit. One interesting fact he told us was that only three people in the world know the recipe to Coca-cola and that there not aloud to fly on the same airplane because if the plane crashes they will die and there was no one left who knows the recipe. We did a challenge with 2 other classes which was we had to identify the story from a sentence from the book or the cover. The two classes got 4 or 6 points and we had 8 points or 9 point. 

I enjoyed his visit and I can't believe we won the challenge.

Little kids age:3yrs to 7yrs Who were the main characters in this book? The tree,The fairy godmother,The witch What was the theme of the book? I think it was funny and weird at the same time. What was your favourite part of the book? When she came back 1 year later and she saw that it was growing lazy and crazy and it was growing crooked but also it had sweet smelling pink flowers and it also had lot of children in it playing and sleeping in it  the children said “This tree is the best in town”; the witch was so angry because she did good deed by accident she burst like a black balloon but the children was so busy playing together they did not hear her leave. My wonderful story

Amy had a school project to do;she had to design and make a model of a playground the prize well it was pretty small the prize was your design will get made into a real playground. Amy was so tired she was up since 3 in the morning drawing the playground design. By the time it was six o’clock her father Mitch came into his daughter sleeping on the flour. “Wakey,Wakey rise and shine” Dad said. She woke “I’m not asleep I've been awake for hours” she said then she turned to see her father looking at the pictures in the trash next to her door. “Why did you throw these in the bin?” dad asked  “ the lines are not straight” she replied to the question “Well get ready for the day; get ready for school go on run along” her father told her. At breakfast Amy ate well drawing,then she went back to her room and put her design in her bag “Ah finally finished” she sighed as a sigh of relief.

At school Amy put a blob of glue here and there and started make the park with the colored dough. It took Amy along time one by one she made swings,seesaws Flying foxes,Trees,Slides and others. She even did a juniors playground for the littlies. When her finished project was finished after about 2 weeks of creating it they were putting all the draws in.

The winner was Amy she was really happy and when the park was done Amy got to choose five besties to be the first to to play on the parks.
